Banglar Yuva Sathi Prakalpa 2026 – Official Announcement

The scheme was officially announced on 5 February 2026 during the West Bengal Budget 2026–27 session in the Vidhan Sabha, Kolkata.

The announcement was made by Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya, with a total state budget of ₹4.06 lakh crore.
Out of this, ₹5,000 crore was specially allocated for the Banglar Yuva Sathi scheme.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that the scheme would be implemented quickly using camp-based verification to avoid delays and corruption.

Eligibility Criteria for Banglar Yuva Sathi (Bekar Bhata)

1. Permanent Resident of West Bengal

You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal. Valid proof includes:

  • Voter ID
  • Ration Card
  • Domicile Certificate

2. Age Limit: 21 to 40 Years

Applicants must be at least 21 years and not above 40 years at the time of application.

3. Minimum Education: Madhyamik Pass

You must have passed Class 10 (Madhyamik) from a recognized board.

4. Currently Unemployed

This scheme is strictly for unemployed youth.
Anyone working in:

  • Government job
  • Private company
  • Contractual employment
    is not eligible.

5. Not Receiving Similar Allowance

Applicants already receiving unemployment allowance from another state or central scheme are not eligible.

Scholarship holders (Kanyashree, Swami Vivekananda Scholarship) can apply.

6. Not a Full-Time Regular Student
